Tammy Taylor is a dedicated educator who has committed her life and career to the service of others. She has spent 27 years as a public educator, serving in a variety of roles. She currently serves as an elementary principal at Great Falls Elementary School in Chester, South Carolina.
She is a 2022 graduate of the University of South Carolina where she was conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D) in Educational Leadership and Policy. Her seminal dissertation, The Salvation of the Africana Child: Via the Role of the Black Woman in Educational Leadership, was grounded in the work of Dr. Clenora Hudson-Weems using the theoretical construct of Africana Womanism. This life changing work has inspired a desire to preserve and protect the Africana family and to strengthen every Africana community throughout the world.
Tammy is married to Pastor Keith Taylor. She is the co-founder of Create and Educate, LLC and of the Knowledge Academy for Girls. She’s passionate about working with youth and loves inspiring others to be the best they can be. She feels that one of her greatest accomplishments in life has been working with young ladies to create a sense of value and self-worth through teaching them to understand, accept, and fulfill their purposes in life…moving her closer to fulfilling her life’s calling – which is - service to humanity - with humility and grace.​
